GRAY OR GREY?

Grey or Gray??

Have you ever been puzzled which way to spell that color - gray or grey? Every time I wrote the word I was undecided as I see it both ways. We have greyhound for one. And now I can't think of other words with either spelling.

I finally decided I needed to google it. It seems gray is the American way of spelling and grey is the British way to spell it. Isn't that interesting?

Can you remember learning how to spell it in school? That is too long ago for me to remember. I wonder if the teacher accepted either spelling in a test.

Now that I know what the deal is, I will just spell it either way and not think about it again. Maybe you will notice how it is spelled in your reading now. Let me know what you find.
